Biography
Jim Garlits is the civilian and contractor deployment program manager at Camp Atterbury in southern Indiana, and is a husband and father of four.
He has been a medical liaison officer (LNO) at Camp Atterbury, a National Guard Bureau crisis operations center team chief, National Guard Bureau Joint Surgeon’s office medical plans and operations branch chief, a recruiting operations officer, a senior military science instructor, a radio personality, an autoworker, an insurance salesman, a short order cook, a coffee shop and used bookstore owner, an apartment painter and a writer, but not all at the same time.

He is halfway through a master’s degree in emergency management, was recently elected president of the International Association of Emergency Managers-USA Student Chapter at American Public University System, and hopes to sit for his Certified Emergency Manager credential in the fall.
He procrastinates writing from Shelbyville, Indiana.
Interests
Jim’s many interests include writing, studying Latin, reading great books, small batch coffee roasting, and being outside.

After you get settled in, look me up. I’m in the book. In the meantime, welcome to Babylon. Stay tuned, and stay in touch.

I love the title of your blog; I’m frequently lamenting the fact that no one seems to have common sense anymore!
